Universal Underground Tank Sensor
The
Data Module can be ordered with its newest feature,
the Universal Underground Tank Sensor. This new (2) part sensor assembly is designed to improve the speed and flexibility of underground tank
monitor installations that involve multi-valve gauge heads and operate reliably when submerged under water due to rain and melting snow. The
assembly consists of a sensor plug and a carrier. The sensor plug mounts directly to the float gauge head (underneath the site dial) using a
separate carrier. It still reads the float gauge's internal magnet directly like our standard sensor. The carrier is designed to be modified
by field personnel to adapt to any underground tank gauge assembly.
Benefit:
With the sensor plug being less than 3/4" in diameter; it can easily pass through a small opening on the tank riser. With an extended sensor
cable, the sensor plug can pulled through buried conduit for applications where it is more desirable for the tank monitor to be mounted
somewhere other than above the underground tank. The carrier can be field modified to match any multi valve gauge head that the tank monitor
installer might encounter. Designed to operate reliably while underwater and reading the position of the float gauge magnet directly
eliminates any inaccuracies associated with site dials' tendency to stick or become frozen, especially when submerged. This dramatically
improves reliability over competing designs. In fact with the
Data Module no site dial is required at all.
Having accurate location information for deliveries provides drivers, dispatch and operations management is the foundation required to significantly improve the efficiency and effectiveness of delivery planning and customer service decisions.
Feature At Work:
Intelligent Propane is pursuing the sale of underground tanks and supply of fuel to developers of custom homes. Intelligent Propane is differentiating themselves as an energy supplier to home builders by offering a tank monitoring system with the unique benefit of having the tank monitor mounted "out of sight" instead of above ground indicating the tank location. This idea is ascetically attractive to the developer. Intelligent Propane was awarded a contract to supply an underground tank, trench a conduit to be buried between the tank and the residence and to have the tank monitor located next to the home, similar to a gas meter.
