Event Driven Messaging System

The Delivery Management System has a built in Messaging System to communicate information about the status of various system functions and maintenance needs. All messages show-up in the Application and can be sent via e-mail, text message or pager. One example is the tank monitor which has built in alert capabilities that trigger messages to users from the Messaging System. There are various messages for each user to choose from. These messages include:

• Low Fuel Level Alert - The fuel level has gone below the programmed low level set point.
• Unusual Usage Alert - The alert is triggered when there is a drop in the tank level by more than 10% between two consecutive readings which would indicate the possibility of equipment malfunction.
• Inside Temperature Alert - Inside temperature has gone below the programmed set point.
• Fill Alert - When the fuel level has increased more than 10% since the last reading an immediate fill alert is sent.
• Sensor Alert - The Data Module determines there is a problem with the sensor reading indicating a possible installation problem.

Benefit:

The Message System allows the user to quickly learn about the change in status at the tank monitor or if the system is requesting action to be taken. This alert capability can help the Propane Company differentiate itself from the competition. Selling this value added feature at high volume customers will help the Propane Company's efforts to secure new business and add service value to existing customers.

Feature At Work:

Intelligent Propane is in pursuit of the forklift cylinder tank business at multiple large manufacturing facilities in its service area. These facilities can change manufacturing from 2 to 3 shifts in a 24 hour period without notice. Maintenance managers in these facilities place heavy value on the reliability of a supplier's service. In this case, if propane runs out, forklifts stop running and production is affected.
